The Indian Air Force’s iconic MiG-21 , the country's first supersonic fighter and interceptor aircraft, which was first inducted in the 1960s and went on to script a glorious chapter in the country's military aviation history, is set to take its final bow today.
At a grand farewell ceremony in Chandigarh, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, top military leaders, veterans, and families will gather to mark the end of the jet’s 62 years of distinguished service.
"Today, 26th September, I shall be in Chandigarh. Shall attend the Decommissioning ceremony of IAF's MiG-21. Looking forward to it," the Defence Minister tweeted.
The farewell ceremony will feature a spectacular flypast by MiG-21s, Jaguars, and the Suryakiran aerobatic team, with the iconic jets leading the Badal and Panther formatio
