HIDALGO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Hidalgo Independent School District launched its groundbreaking Private Pilot Program with an open house event on Wednesday at McAllen Flight Academy.

This innovative program allows high school students to earn their Private Pilot Certification, providing them with unique opportunities in aviation careers.

"This program represents the kind of bold, future-focused education that changes lives," said Dr. J.A. Gonzalez, Hidalgo ISD Superintendent.
