Officials are warning residents of scammers impersonating law enforcement officers to swindle people out of tens of thousands of dollars, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Victims have reported receiving calls from scammers posing as U.S. Marshals or ATF agents and being told they are under investigation.

The scammers attempt to pressure the victims into withdrawing cash, wiring money and purchasing gift cards, according to Long Beach police.
