PS Chatham has registered a case of cyber fraud after a young resident of Anarkali, Delanipur, was cheated of ₹1 lakh by a fraudster who impersonated her boss through email and WhatsApp.

According to the First Information Report (FIR) lodged at Chatham Police Station, the incident occurred on June 27, 2025. The victim received an email on her official work account from an account that displayed the name of her boss. Believing it to be authentic, she shared her WhatsApp number when asked.

Later the same day, she received WhatsApp messages from a foreign number, again posing as her superior. The fraudster claimed that gifts were being arranged for employees and directed her to purchase 10 App Store Codes from Amazon worth ₹10,000 each. T
