LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — Eldorado High School was put into lockdown Thursday evening after reports of shots fired near the school.
Las Vegas police tell FOX5 a domestic disturbance ensued in a neighborhood close by around 6:45 p.m. Police said a man shot three rounds from a handgun into the air. That prompted a lockdown at the high school as police investigated. Police said the suspect is still at large.
Clark County School District police said they issued the lockdown in an effort to “keep everyone safe” while Metro police secured the area.
The lockdown has since been lifted.
According to the school’s website, a high school football game was taking place at the time of the shooting.
No other details were released at this time.
