MIDFIELD, Ala. ( WBRC ) - The Midfield Police Department is looking to add five new officers to its team as part of Jefferson County’s upcoming hiring blitz.
The department currently has 13 officers, and Chief Jessie Bell says the expansion reflects growth and the city’s investment in its police force.
Chief Bell said the department is embracing new technology and participating in specialized details. But just as important as the tools and training, he said, is finding candidates who are ready to work hard and help the department move forward.
Bell noted that while Midfield may be smaller than surrounding agencies, that size allows for closer connections inside the department.
“There’s a lot of hands on, from not just your front-line supervisors like sergeants but also lieutenants an
