Emrochs sell longtime West End home for $6M in year’s second

A local law firm founder’s apparent downsizing has produced the second-priciest purchase of residential real estate seen in metro Richmond so far this year.

Walter and Karen Emroch sold their longtime residence at 402 Old Locke Lane for $6.3 million. The off-market deal was recorded last Thursday with the Richmond city courthouse.

The sale followed the Emrochs’ purchase earlier this month of a slightly smaller house at 4 Paxton Road, also in the city’s West End. The couple bought that home Sept. 4 in an all-cash deal totaling $2.95 million, property records show.
