CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - It’s not a win, but it sure feels like one.
SEMO soccer drew 1-1 against Little Rock, Thursday, for the Redhawks’ first points this season.
The Redhawks entered the contest 0-10, coming off a 1-0 loss in their OVC opener at Lindenwood.
Early on, SEMO’s press had the Redhawks controlling the game until a mishandled shot resulted in Holly Rimmer falling into the goal while holding the ball, giving the Trojans a 1-0 lead in the first half.
Late in the first, Rachel Kretzer whipped a ball in from the left wing, with Hayley Hogenmiller heading in the equalizer, to a roaring crowd that featured more than one hundred SEMO athletes, friends, and families.
Both sides battled throughout the rest of the first and second halves, with a late chance coming for SEMO. Emi
