A man who vanished prior to facing the NSW corruption watchdog over allegations he rigged the awarding of transport contracts worth millions of dollars has been found, months after an arrest warrant was issued.

Ibrahim Helmy, a former Transport for NSW employee, was arrested by Cybercrime Squad detectives just after 1:30pm on Friday in Lakemba, in Sydney's south-west.

"He [Mr Helmy] was taken to Campsie Police Station where the warrant was executed, which authorises police to detain the man to ensure his appearance before the ICAC [Independent Commission Against Corruption] inquiry," NSW Police said in a statement.

"No criminal charges have been laid."
