Terri Reaves was clutching a box of tissues after finding out she was one of three recipients of six months of housing payments through a partnership between Sterling Heights-based Summit Financial Consulting and the Gradient Gives Back Foundation.

Single moms Danielle Bare and LaRhonda Wyatt and Reaves, who recently lost her husband of 40 years to cancer after being his caretaker for many months, will all have their mortgage or rent payments covered for the next six months.

“This is going to be a tremendous help because when I applied for the foundation, I was caring for my husband who had been recently diagnosed with cancer and I lost him a month ago,” said Reaves. “He racked up a lot of bills and I’m grateful this will help us to try and crawl out from under some of this debt.”
