SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
Sacramento job seekers will get a chance to roll up their sleeves and test-drive high-demand careers at the “Taking It To the Streets” Union Trades Career Fair + Block Party, happening Friday, Sept. 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot of the former Sleep Train Arena.
Hosted by People Working Together and the Sacramento-Sierra Building and Construction Trades Council (SSBCTC), the free event pairs hands-on learning with a lively block party atmosphere.
Attendees can expect to:
Try on safety gear and work with real tools under the guidance of expert union mentors
Connect with 28 local construction union affiliates and employers, including Turner Construction, Southland, Rudolph & Sletten, Swinerton Builders, Whiting-Turner, and SMUD
