CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - It's National Pancake Day, which means it's time to mix up some batter, heat up the griddle, and make a tall stack of syrupy goodness.
The National Day Calendar states that pancakes, also known as Johnnycakes, griddle cakes, or hotcakes, date back over 30,000 years. Pancakes became a traditional part of Fat Tuesday (Shrove Tuesday) celebrations when revelers would feast before they fasted.
They can be rolled and filled with fruit and other fillings, however they are typically stacked and drizzled with flavored syrup. Some also like to add fruit, nuts, chocolate, or whipped topping to them.
To celebrate, Yelp has put together a list of the best places to get some flapjacks in western Massachusetts: • Sunny Side Up Breakfast and Lunch – 46 Morgan Road, West Spri
