Keith David, informed in July he will be getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, earned his star by appearing in hundreds of projects over the last 40-plus years.

Yet, the veteran actor still found something to cross off his to-do list when he agreed to join the cast of “The Lowdown.” He plays the character Marty in the shot-in-Tulsa series.

“The part of Marty is a detective, and that has always fascinated me,” David said. “I have always wanted to play a detective and here was my opportunity.”

Ethan Hawke stars as citizen journalist and self-described “truthstorian” Lee Raybon in “The Lowdown,” Tulsa filmmaker Sterlin Harjo’s follow-up to another shot-in-Oklahoma series, “Reservation Dogs.”
