Syracuse, N.Y. — The start of a murder trial has revealed the prosecutors’ timeline for the 2022 double homicide hinges on a 911 call for a noise complaint days earlier.

The 911 call in the early hours of Aug. 21, 2022 was used by police to help establish when the murders happened, so it is expected to be key in the trial.

Defense attorneys for three men said in opening statements Thursday this was the first of a series of assumptions that led to the wrong people being arrested

Alexis Sellin , 32, and Jamie Crawford , 46, were found dead with gunshots to the head inside their apartment at 3101 Burnet Ave on April 24, 2022.

Sellin’s 6-year-old son, who is blind and paraplegic, was found alive .

The boy was severely dehydrated and the couple appeared to have been dead for some time
