LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind. (WPTA) - The LaGrange County Sheriff’s Office says a 13-year-old was killed and a 6-year-old was critically hurt when their UTV collided with a Jeep on Thursday.
Police say the crash happened around 11:30 a.m. at 3500 West State Road 120. A Jeep driven by a 32-year-old Michigan man was headed eastbound on State Road 120 when police say the UTV (Utility Terrain Vehicle) tried to cross the road at a 90-degree angle.
The driver of the Jeep allegedly told police he was not able to avoid hitting the UTV, and the 13-year-old boy driving the UTV and his 6-year-old passenger were thrown from the UTV.
The department says first responders attempted life-saving measures, but the 13-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 6-year-old boy was airlifted to Parkview Region
