LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind. (WNDU) - A 13-year-old boy is dead, and a 6-year-old boy is seriously hurt after a crash in LaGrange County involving an off-road vehicle and a Jeep.

It happened on Thursday around 11:30 a.m. on State Road 120.

According to police, a 32-year-old Coldwater man was heading east in a Jeep Cherokee when he was unable to avoid crashing into a John Deere Gator that was attempting to cross the road.

The driver of the John Deere Gator, 13-year-old Karson Hochstetler, and his 6-year-old passenger were both reportedly ejected from the UTV.

Police say Hochstetler died at the scene while the 6-year-old was flown to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Jeep was not hurt in the crash.
