FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - We’re almost done with the first full week of fall, and we’re about to enter the first weekend, and summer weather refuses to let go (which is good or bad news depending on your perspective!).

Highs will soar into the 80s Saturday and mid to upper 80s Sunday. Thanks to low humidity, morning fog will not be much of a widespread concern, and the heat index also won’t be a factor. In other words, the 80s will feel like the 80s, not the 90s!

A cold front will pass through Sunday into Monday, dropping temperatures back down into the low 80s. Eventually, by the first day of October (Wednesday), highs are expected to settle back into the 70s. No rain, however, is expected through the end of next week.
