ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A St. Louis County court sentenced a man to 30 years in prison after he was convicted of crimes against a child.

Robert Linton, 85, was sentenced on Thursday to 30 years in prison for three counts of first-degree statutory sodomy and one count of second-degree child molestation.

According to a release by the court, 30 years is the minimum sentence for these crimes. Linton’s “advanced age” was considered when issuing the sentencing.

The victim was 4 years old at the time of the crimes.

The victim’s mother delivered an impact statement, which documents say Linton interrupted twice. He did not quiet until the judge threatened to hold him in contempt of court.

Linton addressed the court, claiming that “the trial was a farce,” and he is innocent.
