CALDWELL COUNTY, Ky. (WEVV) — A tragic collision in Caldwell County involving a semi-truck and a motorcycle resulted in two fatalities, the Kentucky State Police reported.

The accident happened on Thursday night on Interstate 69 near the 75-mile marker. The semi-truck was traveling northbound when a motorcyclist ahead experienced equipment failure and lost control, leading to a crash.

Michael McAlister, 55, and Laura McAlister, 57, both from Princeton, Ky., were riding the motorcycle. Both were pronounced dead at the scene by the Caldwell County Coroner.

The semi-truck driver was uninjured, and no charges have been filed. Trooper Hunter Combs is leading the ongoing investigation.
