MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - A Madison mom welcomed a new baby girl into the world last week. But Brooklynn’s birth didn’t really go according to plan.

31-year-old Shannen Krahn was at home with her almost two-year-old son Max on Madison’s eastside the night of Monday, September 15th. She was just a week out from her due date which was the 23rd.

She started feeling what she thought might be contractions. Shannen called her husband, who was at work, to let him know he should come home.

“So, I called Mitch at work and said ‘I think we should head in soon, just wrap up what you’re doing and come home, we’re good,” said Krahn. “I’m kind of feeling something but I don’t know if it’s progressing,”
