MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Shots fired earlier this month led Madison Police Department officers to arrest several teens, police announced Friday morning.

Multiple people reported hearing gunfire just after 10:10 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 1, in the 2400 block of Independence Lane. MPD determined a glass patio door of an apartment was hit while people were inside. No one was hurt.

In an update Friday, police say Violent Crimes Unit detectives and Gang and Neighborhood Abetment Team officers found more shell casings and property damage in the area during the investigation.

Police arrested a 17-year-old boy on Wednesday, who officers said had a loaded 9mm handgun on him. The teen faces a probation hold and charges of felon in possession of a firearm.
