GRAND FORKS — The Canadian Hockey League won't issue NCAA teams a blanket pass for free access to its buildings this season.

However, several CHL teams — mostly in the Ontario Hockey League and Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League — have contacted NCAA programs during the last couple of weeks to let them know they're welcome in their buildings and passes will be available.

It's a sign that teams are adjusting to the new landscape, where players from the three Canadian major junior leagues are eligible for college hockey for the first time in more than four decades.

NCAA teams recruited several top players away from CHL programs this offseason.

That is expected to continue in the future.
