GRAND RAPIDS, MI - This month, Grand Rapids Public Schools (GRPS) unveiled its $5.1 million renovation of 102-year-old Houseman Stadium.

Located near the cross-section where Fountain St. meets Diamond Ave., the 8,000-seat multipurpose venue serves as a hub for GRPS athletics.

The stadium is host to high school football and track and field events, along with GRPS graduation ceremonies. The nearby Aquinas College also uses the stadium for track and field/rugby games.

GRPS leaders said the renovation, aimed at preserving the historic community landmark at 162 Houseman Ave. NE, will also provide a modern venue for student athletes to continue making history.
