The City of Stirling will go ahead with a three-month trial of FOGO bins in Coolbinia, despite mayor Mark Irwin initially voting against it during a council committee meeting last week.
At the city’s council meeting on Tuesday night, the recommendation was carried without discussion to trial a Food Organics, Garden Organics three-bin system which includes a new 240L lime-green lidded bin, which will be collected weekly, and a 120L red general waste bin, collected fortnightly.
The city’s Community and Resource Committee met on Tuesday last week to discuss a potential three-month trial and what options they had to undertake the trial. The vote was split 4-4.
