Ruiqing Hu and Hughie Masters emerged as respective ladies and men’s singles champions when Musselburgh tennis club staged their annual championships.

Making her first singles final appearance it was a determined showing by Katy in going down 2-6, 6-4, 4-10 (champion tie break) while in a repeat of the 2024 men’s final Hughie overcame Callum Neil 7-6, 6-2.

Other winners included – men’s doubles – Robbie Stewart and Kevin Duffy; ladies doubles – Stella Smith and Louise Kirkpatrick; mixed doubles – Louise Kirkpatrick and James Burnet.

Organiser James Burnet said: “It was great to see so many people enjoy the new facilities and celebrate the hard work of all the competitors.”
