OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - The ongoing replacement of the railroad crossing on the South Expressway near 32nd in Council Bluffs will be moving into a new phase over the coming days.

The southbound South Expressway is scheduled to reopen Friday afternoon and will be available for weekend travel.

Starting Monday, though, the northbound South Expressway will close between 34th and 32nd.

This closure is scheduled to last for two weeks while this part of the railroad crossing is replaced.

The detour will take traffic over to Metro Drive; expect heavier traffic in that area.
