Bow hunting permits issued for Hickory Forest

TRAVERSE CITY — Bow hunting for deer at Hickory Forest Natural Area will be allowed starting Oct. 1 for permit holders.

The City of Traverse City and Charter Township of Garfield Recreational Authority is starting to issue permits on a first-come, first-served basis to those with a valid hunting license and driver's license/state ID from Michigan, said Rec Authority Director Matt Cowall on Friday.
