YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) -- Court documents shed new details regarding the search for a man who allegedly stalked his ex-girlfriend before shooting five police officers, killing three of them.
Northern York County Regional Police (NYCRP) officers were looking for Matthew Ruth for a stalking incident at a home along Haar Road in North Codorus Township on Tuesday, Sept. 16, around 11:30 p.m. Police searched for Ruth for several hours but could not find him.
Ruth was allegedly spotted on a trail camera looking into a home with a spotting scope with what appeared to be an AR-15 style rifle slung across his chest, according to court documents.
The search warrant signed by NYCRP Detective Mark Baker, one of the officers who was fatally shot in the ambush, shows officers searched Ruth's black F
