SEARCY COUNTY, Ark. – A Searcy County man will spend the rest of his life in prison after a jury found him guilty on Wednesday of nine counts of raping his daughter from the time she was 12 to 22 years old.

Twentieth Judicial District Prosecutor Carol Crews said 67-year-old Stephen Phillip Treat of Leslie received the sentences. He was also sentenced to one count of incest, with Judge H.G. Foster sentencing him to nine life sentences plus 10 years.

The jury heard testimony from the victim over three days, Crews said. Court records show the woman told her story of being repeatedly sexually assaulted to an Arkansas State Police investigator in 2023, leading to a warrant being sworn against Treat that day.
