LANDOVER, Md. — An 18-year-old man has been charged with assault for hitting and seriously injuring a woman with a car during an illegal street takeover in Prince George's County. Naef Salmo is due in court for a bond review hearing on Tuesday.

Prince George's County investigators found that on Sept. 14, just before 2 a.m., a car meetup was held at a shopping center parking lot in the 8500 block of Landover Road. During the takeover event, police learned that while doing circles in his car, Salmo struck the woman and then left the scene. The woman was hospitalized with serious injuries, but has since been released.
