MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WV News) — The West Virginia University Police Department has officially settled into its new home at the Chestnut Ridge Building, a move leaders say will enhance safety, training and services for the campus community.

The department relocated just ahead of the fall semester from its former offices on Elmer Prince Drive, which were sold to WVU Medicine as part of the Eye Institute’s expansion. The new headquarters, at 886 Chestnut Ridge Road, was previously known as the Chestnut Ridge Research Building.

Chief Sherry St. Clair said the upgraded facilities will allow officers to better meet the demands of a modern police force.
