DUNKARD TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WV News) — NextEra Energy on Thursday announced the proposed route for the Mid-Atlantic Resiliency Link, a roughly 107.5-mile, 500-kilovolt transmission line.
The project, which is planned to run from a substation in Dunkard Township, Pennsylvania, to a connection point near Gore, Virginia, has been met with opposition from officials and residents throughout the state who are concerned about its potential impact on their communities.
The proposed route is the result of routing study that considered more than 1,200 public comments from eight open houses and two online surveys, along with meetings with more than 300 landowners and local organizations.
