Drivers on northbound Interstate-81 in Franklin County will encounter a ramp closure next week.

The off-ramp at Exit 5 (Route 16/Greencastle/Waynesboro) will close at 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, for reconstruction, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation District 8 said.

It will remain closed through 6 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1.

The work is part of a $17.8 million project on Interstate-81 from the Maryland state line to milepost 6, which is expected to be completed in July 2027.

A detour will be in place. Northbound I-81 traffic should continue north to Exit 10 (Route 914/Marion), the return south on I-81 to Exit 5.
