FORT GORDON, Ga (WJBF)- Leaders from across the CSRA joining the leadership at Fort Gordon Friday for a redesignation ceremony.

Fort Gordon was originally named after Major General John Brown Gordon, a Confederate General.

It was renamed Fort Eisenhower in 2023 after President Dwight D. Eisenhower, a WWII hero. Now it's named Fort Gordon again, this time after another hero of war.

"Any time you have an opportunity, though, to admire, honor and respect somebody that has served our nation in any way, we here feel that we're a great representation of what Army values look like in a contribution to the history of the 250 years of our Army," said Major General Ryan Janovic, the Commanding General, U.S. Army Cyber Center of Excellence and Fort Gordon.
