BEREA, Ohio — The Cleveland Browns defense may be tops in the NFL, but the team’s offense has officially reached DEFCON 1 status heading into Sunday’s showdown with the Detroit Lions. Despite pulling off a stunning upset against Green Bay last week, the unit’s prolonged inability to put points on the board has the coaching staff sweating bullets and quarterback Joe Flacco potentially fighting for his job.

“I think more so than anything I’m looking at what the Browns offense is going to be able to do against this Lions defense because the Browns offense has got to score some points,” Browns beat reporter Mary Kay Cabot emphasized on the Orange and Brown Talk podcast . “Joe Flacco has to play well. If he doesn’t, he’s getting dangerously close to losing his job to rookie Dillon Gabriel.
