Many fighters think Islam Makhachev won’t be a threat in the welterweight division. But Makhachev is gunning for that welterweight belt. However, featherweight champ Alexander Volkanovski believes the Dagestani fighter is still a nightmare at welterweight, though he thinks Jack Della Maddalena can stop him.

The fight between JDM and Makhachev will go down at the iconic Madison Square Garden. It’s definitely going to be challenging for Makhachev since he’s moving up a weight class. Volkanovski is hoping JDM can get the better of Makhachev. Talking on Submission Radio, the featherweight champion said:

‘He’s a nightmare for many in the division. Islam’s great, him moving up. I still think he’s a nightmare for a lot of people in the division, but I think JDM can do it.”
