BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - The family of Caleb Wilson, a Southern University student who died during an apparent hazing ritual involving the university’s chapter of Omega Psi Phi fraternity, filed a wrongful death lawsuit on Friday in the 19th Judicial Court in Baton Rouge.
Among the defendants named in the suit are the national organization and local chapters at Southern University, the state of Louisiana, Southern University, and a dozen people reportedly tied to the incident that led to Wilson’s death.
Wilson, 20, of Kenner, was a junior at Southern University, majoring in mechanical engineering and a talented trumpet player in the world-renowned Human Jukebox marching band.
