PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - A Peoria man will spend the next 200 months in prison after he was sentenced for federal drug crimes.

Forty-year-old Matthew T. Miller was sentenced Wednesday for possessing with intent to distribute more than 50 grams of methamphetamine. The judge ordered it to be followed by five years of supervised release.

The court reviewed evidence between June and September 2024 and found Miller sold methamphetamine on three occasions, totaling around 87 grams.

Miller was riding in the passenger seat in September 2024 when they were pulled over.

During the traffic stop, officers asked him to step out of the car, but Miller refused to comply. Police saw Miller moving around in the car, attempting to destroy a large amount of drugs by dumping them out of the baggies.
