TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - A family of five was rescued from a flood on Old Spanish Trail early Friday, Sept. 26.
The Rincon Valley Fire District said it happened on the road, just east of the general store.
The RVFD said two adults and three kids were rescued, and no injuries were reported.
The RVFD said 12 firefighters responded to the scene, and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department helped close the road.
“This incident is a reminder of how quickly floodwaters can rise,” the RVFD said. “Please remember: Turn Around, Don’t Drown.”
Friday’s incident comes just days after two other swift-water rescues in southern Arizona.
On Sept. 12, a Benson woman died when her vehicle was swept away in a wash.
