Two Starbucks in the Eugene-Springfield metro area are closing this weekend.
Baristas at the stores at 1505 Franklin Blvd. in Eugene and 1810 Pioneer Parkway West in Springfield will pour their last lattes Saturday. Starbucks is closing at least 15 stores across the state.
The Seattle-based coffee giant will close about 1% of its locations in the United States and North America and cut around 900 current non-retail jobs as part of its Back to Starbucks transformation strategy, according to a press release from Starbucks CEO Brian Niccol.
Starbucks has more than 20 locations in Eugene-Springfield, many of which are kiosks inside grocery and department stores.
The Starbucks at 1505 Franklin Blvd. is a "pick-up" store. Starbucks previously announced its intention to eliminate t
