LEXINGTON, Ky. — A University of Kentucky football player was arrested Friday and charged with sexual abuse.
On Aug. 20, the Lexington Police Department received a report of unwanted sexual contact that happened at a residence in the 500 block of South Upper Street in Lexington.
A judge granted an emergency protective order against Jamarion Wilcox, WKYT News reported.
On Friday, Wilcox, 21, was arrested and charged with sexual abuse (first degree) and is being held in the Fayette County Detention Center.
A UK football spokesperson released the following statement:
"We are aware of the situation with Jamarion and will continue to gather information and monitor the situation closely. He will continue to be withheld from competition and will not travel to South Carolina."
