The 2025 World Music Festival Chicago is on now through Sat., Oct. 5 as a ten‑day musical journey across Chicagoland. From downtown concert halls to lakeside stages, the festival is free and open to the public on a first‑come, first‑served basis, though some venues impose seating limits, so arriving early is highly recommended.
The festival will open in dramatic fashion with Ragamala: A Celebration of Indian Classical Music , a sunrise‑through‑sunset marathon of Hindustani and Carnatic music at the Chicago Cultural Center’s Preston Bradley Hall. Running tonight, Sept. 26 from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m. on Sept. 27, Ragamala brings some of the finest Indian classical music to perform ragas appropriate to different hours of the night.
