SANTA CLARA — Brock Purdy would not confirm who will be starting under center for the 49ers against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday but he appeared to move up in the sequence at San Francisco's practice Thursday.
“We’ll see,” Brock said with a smile after practice. “I’m taking it day by day still, but feeling a lot better. It’s been good. Really like where I’m at with the progress, with it healing up, and feeling better dropping back, throwing and like where I’m at.”
Purdy, who initially sat out of practice after injuring his toe in Week 1, came back in a limited capacity as the 49ers prepared for Week 3. The quarterback, unable to practice at full speed, took practice reps after both Mac Jones and Adrian Martinez — essentially as the third in line.
