VIDEO: Lake Conway renovation clears boat lanes

BRINKLEY, Ark. — Officials with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission announced that local sportsmen and volunteers have spent recent weekends cleaning trails, boat lanes, and parking areas at several state wildlife management areas.

David Luker, AGFC Wildlife Management Division assistant chief, said volunteers used chainsaws and four-wheelers to remove fallen trees and clear handicapped access trails.

Thirty-four volunteers helped at Dave Donaldson Black River WMA, Big Lake WMA, Henry Gray Hurricane Lake WMA, W.E. Brewer Scatter Creek WMA, and George H. Dunklin Jr. Bayou Meto WMA, officials said.

Students from the Manila School District, led by teacher Creighton Polk, collected trash at Big Lake WMA parking areas, officials said.
