We now have the first track for Potential Tropical Cyclone 9, or what is expected to become Tropical Storm Imelda. Humberto is rapidly intensifying and is expected to become a major hurricane by Saturday.

The tropical models are trending more concerning early next week. The disturbance trying to turn into Imelda is speeding up while Humberto is slowing down. That may help future Imelda strengthen and stay independent of Humberto as it stays further to the southeast.

The first track for what will become Imelda shows it arriving to the Carolinas as a Cat 1 and drops to a tropical storm as it moves inland or gets stuck off the coast.
