LAPEL, Ind. — People living in Madison County reached out to FOX59/CBS4 after seeing discolored water streaming from the faucet regularly.
“It was like a fluorescent yellow,” said Brianna Davis, “it almost looked like urine in the bath.”
The Lapel resident doesn’t drink the water, despite town officials telling her the water was safe and there was no need to boil it.
“I later called the EPA, and I called IDEM, like their drinking water programs, and they both told me that it is not advisable to drink discolored water,” said Davis.
The Indiana Department of Environmental Management said that while it’s not recommended, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the water supply is unsafe.
The water samples taken in the area have come up as satisfactory when it comes to meeting the Safe Drinking
