CLEVELAND (WJW) - Cuyahoga County sheriff officials arrested a 23-year-old man for several charges, including improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, after he was seen driving a stolen vehicle on Interstate 90 early Friday morning.

Jennifer Ciaccia, a county spokesperson, said deputies were positioned in the area of Dead Man’s Curve around 3:15 a.m. and attempted to stop the vehicle, which continued to accelerate.

"A vehicle pursuit was not initiated," Ciaccia stated in a release. "The vehicle then ran over stop strips which had been pre-deployed by deputies. The vehicle was disabled and came to a stop.
