NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Former Orleans Parish 911 director Tyrell Morris was found guilty of all charges by a jury Friday, Sept. 26.
Morris was convicted of the following charges: • Malfeasance in office • False personation of a peace officer • Insurance fraud • Second-degree injuring public records
According to prosecutors, Morris falsified records to hide a crash that occurred while he was driving an agency-issued car. He interfered with the crash investigation and altered the agency's written policy on accidents to cover it up.
Morris was taken into custody and his bond was denied. He will be sentenced on Oct. 1.
