CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — The Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center held a National Recovery Month and suicide prevention event in Clarksburg on Friday for veterans and the community.
The event, which has taken place since 2019, welcomed 50 vendors from around the state who can offer support to veterans struggling with addiction or their mental health.
In addition to vendors, the VA also welcomed veterans from the recovery community to share their stories of hope and let others know that recovery is possible.
Steve Osborne, an outreach specialist with Marion County Family Resource and Support Network, was one of the speakers who attended the event to share his story.
