ALEDO, Ill. (KWQC) - The Mercer County superintendent is on administrative leave after being charged with illegally accessing student medical records.

The Mercer County School Board voted 6-0 to place Timothy Farquer on paid leave at the advice of legal counsel, according to a media release Friday afternoon.

The board also appointed Alan Boucher and Scott Petrie to serve as interim superintendents, officials said.

“Our priority remains providing a stable, supportive environment for our students, staff, and families,” officials said in the release. “We are confident that with the leadership of Mr. Boucher and Mr. Petrie, Mercer County Schools will continue to thrive.”

Board members said they were committed to transparency as more information becomes available.
